♦ Manual Lymphatic Drainage ♦
Lymphatic drainage massage is a light massage technique used specifically to work the lymphatic system. This technique is best used when dealing with inflammation, fluid retention, post operative care to help rid anesthesia and swelling in the system, digestion problems, congestion, colds, neck and face swelling, coughs, lung congestion, general swelling, and lymphadema.
♦ Reflexology ♦
Reflexology is a technique that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the human body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and finger on these reflex areas. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and include warming and stimulating techniques on the feet followed by relaxing massage techniques. If you love getting your feet worked on, would like to try something new, or you are too sore to receive direct or traditional body work or it is contraindicated, this may be right for you.
♦ Reiki ♦
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. As cited from the International Center for Reiki Training, "it is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy." This wonderful healing technique can be administered by Sharon Fish, who is certified in Level 2 Reiki or Anne Ondrey who is a Karuna Reiki Master.
♦ Chair Massage ♦
A specialized massage chair is used to traditionally work the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and performed fully clothed. If you are short on time, don't feel comfortable with table massage, or would like to try another approach to getting rid of that pesky knot or tiring stress, this technique may be right for you.
